1 bed shared bath

Half hour single camera sitcom

A timid assistant hopes to become a copywriter at his ad agency while renting out his spare bedroom to a rotating cast of bizarre characters

When his girlfriend leaves him (only to move into a better apartment across the hall) Eddie runs into money troubles. He decides to rent out his spare bedroom using an AirBnB style app called Bunk Mates.

It’s easy money. At least it would be if Eddie could predict the type of crazy characters that now stream into his apartment on a weekly basis.

His new Bunk Mates range from incredibly helpful and wise to neurotic and outright crazy. They include erotic authors, nutritional gurus, temperamental musicians, amateur porn directors, social media influencers and even a potential serial killer. And that’s just the first month.

But the neighborhood is fantastic and he can walk to work at DW Advertisting. Having barely scraped through an internship there, Eddie vows to give his new position as executive assistant to the managing director his all.

His ultimate goal is a position on the creative copywriting team. Unfortunately, he’ll have to wade through a cast of temperamental bosses, competitive colleagues, nihilistic mentors and even a budding office romance to get it.

Each episode of 1 Bed Shared Bath will feature a different Bunk Mate who rents the spare room.  While they generally complicate Eddie’s life, they are often just helpful enough to keep the operation going.

The fun of the series comes from seeing how the unique quirks and insights of each Bunk Mate either help or hinder Eddie towards achieving his goal.

The bean Better Detectives

Hour long drama/comedy

A disgraced journalist, a café owner and a novelist unwittingly form an amateur detective agency to solve quirky crimes in Los Angeles while unraveling the mysteries of their own lives.

Light-hearted and fun, The Bean Better Detectives is a mystery of the week procedural with ongoing storylines that takes classic noir tropes and mixes them with modern day trends and technology. It’s a world where an old Instagram post is as much of a clue as a bloody shoeprint. Where femme fatales can be found on TikTok and hired muscle is available on Craigslist.

Using the Bean Better Café as a combination coffee shop/investigators office, the trio of not so amateur detectives explore every element of the city and meet a wide array of characters from all walks of life. And considering the café/office is located in the heart of Los Angeles that allows for quite a bit of diversity.

Seedy backrooms to lavish penthouses. High-end clubs to dive bars. Movies stars and politicians. Homeless and cultists. Each case will expose our heroes to a different element of the major metropolis they live in.

So come on in and grab a coffee. Share your tale of deception and intrigue. And let The Bean Better Detectives take it from there.
